Enforcement: Two suspects held in custody for selling fake pig vaccines in Taiwan

Focus Taiwan

Two suspects have been arrested on suspicion of supplying pig farmers with fake vaccines. The counterfeit vaccines were supplied by a man who was selling them at TWD 63 (USD 2.07) per dose through a middleman, according to a statement issued by the Yunlin District Prosecutors Office on May 15. They said the two suspects have earned at least TWD 25 million (USD 821,386) with this fraud. Pig farmers were duped because the vaccines carried labels and trademarks, and were accompanied by a fake but official-looking certificate of authenticity.
