Communication/Conference: The deployment of the project REPT (Respond effectively to the production and trafficking of falsified medicines) by training Senegalese pharmacists

January 12th 2016 - www.aps.sn

To effectively fight against illicit trafficking of drugs in Senegal, thirty pharmacists will be trained during the month of January 2016. This initiative follows the launch of the European project "Responding effectively to the production and trafficking of falsified medicines" (REPT) funded by the European Union and operating in five countries (Jordan, Morocco, Ghana, Cameroon and Senegal). This project aims to help organizations such as the Ministries of Health and Social Action, Justice, the Interior, the Armed Forces and of Economy and Finance to fight against falsified medicines. Professor Amadou Moctar Dièye, pharmacist and director of pharmacy and medicine, highlights the fact that in case of taking fake drugs, the disease may get worse as well as the risk of death.
