During the Pharmaceutical and Medical Expo in Phnom Penh, the director of a department of the Ministry of Health of Cambodia explained the closure policy of all pharmacies selling counterfeit drugs. The closure of these institutions is followed by legal action against the owners. In order to better control the quality of medicines, the law requires that all pharmaceutical products be registered with ministry of health. In this perspective, pharmacies have been informed of their obligation to register imported drugs in order not to be penalized.
