Niger authorities apprehended a shipment of thirteen tons of counterfeit medicines from India to Niamey via a port in Ghana. A police spokeswoman said the traffickers received help from an official within a company licensed to distribute pharmaceutical products. Some of these medicines are analgesics and anti-inflammatories. The name of the manufacturer does not appear on the packaging. We can even read the mention "Leave in reach of children" in one packaging. Attorney General Chaibou Samna expressed worry about fake drugs reaching Niger.
