Enforcement: Market flooded with spurious and fake medicines in Bangladesh

February 6th, 2016 - www.amarhealth.com

The markets in Bangladesh are flooded with fake and spurious medicines but there is no arrangement for protecting the affected patients. According to the Drug Administration Department sources, 1,189 cases were filed on the charges of importing, hoarding and selling illegal, spurious or smuggled medicines from January to 13th December 2015. During this period, 31 people were sentenced. The problems will be solved, at least partially, if the “National Drug Policy”, currently on-going, is approved and implemented by the government.
