Communication / Conference: In China, new rating system to evaluate pharmacies

Sina Med

The Market Supervision Bureau of Penglai city, in Shandong Province, is preparing a system to evaluate local pharmacies. According to this program, they will be granted a grade: from A for “Trustworthy” to D for “Serious unworthiness”. Depending on the grade obtained, inspections would be more or less frequent, up to 4 inspections a year for D-graded pharmacies. This plan is to be developed nationwide, and county, municipal, provincial and national level Food and Drugs Departments’ databases should be interconnected in 2019-2020, making it difficult for the pharmacies that were graded D to move elsewhere.
