Enforcement: Hong Kong police dismantle counterfeit medicine ring

On September 5 and 6, Hong Kong Customs cracked down on a counterfeit medicine ring, in an operation that led to 14 arrests. Police seized an estimated 2,700 counterfeit pills, as well as 92,000 pills of suspected controlled medicine with an estimated market value of about HKD 16 million (USD 2 million). On this occasion, a senior customs official stated that combating counterfeit medicine remained a top priority.
