A survey, led from 2000 till 2010, highlighted that the carrier delivered illicit pharmaceutical products sold by illegal on-line pharmacies. The company, which risks a 1.6$ billion fine is going to appear in front of the Federal Court of San Francisco. The US authorities, Food and Drug Agency (FDA) or the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) had already warned FedEx in 2004.
In certain cases, the retailers and the consumers of illicit and/or sold medicine only on prescription, made deliver the goods on a parking or in a public place and threatened the drivers of the transport FedEx. According to the survey, the carrier knew about these practices but continued its deliveries.
